Renee & Zack’s Beachfront Oregon Coast Summer Wedding

Dear Friends,

I mean it when I say it truly felt like fate the morning I read Renee & Zack’s inquiry come through my email. They were inquiring about an engagement session in Charleston, South Carolina, but couldn’t help but notice that my website featured photos of Canon Beach, Oregon, the very place they were set to get married. When we hoped on our first call to chat through everything, not realizing we had spoken for an hour because it all just felt so natural, they immediately booked me for their wedding as well.

We finally met in person in Charleston, roaming the streets of downtown for their engagement photos & I knew then that their wedding was going to be something special. Nothing could quite prepare me for the weekend ahead in Oregon, though, & just how much love I would feel from not only them but their families as well.

Fast forward to August on the Oregon Coast, a rainy day before their wedding made for the most adventurous & authentic to the Pacific Northwest experience for their Wedding Portraits. I asked if they wanted to reschedule because of the rain, & they simply said, “no need, we are excited to embrace the weather!” Their attitude the entire day made it one of the most fun & fulfilling times capturing their Bride & Groom Portraits at stunning locations like Elk Flats & Short Sand Beach just south of Cannon Beach, Oregon. I have never seen anything quite so stunning, even though the mist.

The next day, the clouds parted & made way for the most beautiful celebration of their wedding, (even if it was high tide). The family gathered to all help set up the most perfect beachfront wedding reception, full of heartfelt speeches & songs sung. What happened at the end was completely unplanned & possibly the coolest exit I have ever seen. When they were done dancing, the couple & all their loved ones charged for the ocean, under the light of the moon & danced & splashed in the waves. What a beautiful end to the most perfect weekend.

Thank you Renee & Zack & to all the Pond’s & Bradshaw’s who made me feel so at home for my weekend spent on the Oregon Coast capturing their love. Cannon Beach has always been one of my favorite places, but now it holds an extra special place in my heart <3
